Exciting event THIS week! Hear all about it in my Monthly Round Up.

ETSY MADE LOCAL ONLINE

This past month I have been preparing for an exciting event taking place next week. On the 8th and 9th of August I will have a virtual booth at the Sheffield Etsy Made Local Online event. This the first Etsy Made Local I have taken part in as a seller, and they are always incredible events! Of course the move to online is different and new for all of us, but it’s actually a great way to showcase the talent on Etsy and find out a little but more about the seller and how the items are made! The event is completely FREE to visitors.

ALSO I will have a very exclusive 10% off across all of my items for this event only, so do make sure to check this event out to get a great deal! It’s not very often I have discounts on my shop, so grab it while you can.

You can RSVP to the event HERE so you have a little reminder on Facebook when the event starts next Saturday 8th August.

I will be going LIVE in my booth (eek!) on Saturday at 6pm! I have never gone live before (apart from my very first Insta Live Here) so this is nerve wracking and exciting for me! I would be thrilled and grateful to see you there if you wanted to have a nosey, give some moral support and maybe count how many times I say ‘EEERM…’ (I’ve noticed I do this ALL THE TIME in my YouTube videos) hey maybe it could even be a drinking game? You can find my live on YouTube by clicking the link here

Cudworth Bunny Trail
This beautiful Berry Bunny is for the Cudworth Bunny Trail, that has now been postponed until next summer. I absolutely loved creating this design and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I filmed the entire process and you can see how it all came along in the video below.

I transform this ceramic bunny from zero to hero! Also I have some thoughts on comparison. Grab a cuppa tea and have a cosy time with me!

New phone background for you
I have recently shared this sleepy cat over on my Instagram, available as a free phone background. I have saved its as a highlight in my stories so you can go and screen shot it from there. I have actually changed my own lock screen to it, which is the first change in about a year! I feel like I have a new phone!

Things to watch:

I have basically been constantly watching alternate episodes of RuPauls Drag Race and Married at First Sight Australia all month! Seriously I cannot get enough of either of them and they are SO EASY to watch. (As I was just finding the link I’ve learnt that there is a new season of MAFS starting Aug 10th HALLELUJAH!)

However, my partner and I did break up this regular viewing with a Hamilton viewing party for two, complete with amaretto sours and homemade sweet and sour tofu! It was incredible and tears were shed. We saw the show in London last year and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life! So this really brought back great memories of when we could actually, y’know, go outside, and be squished inside an old victorian building with hundreds of others.

Oh and also, Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix was really good, though devastatingly sad in many places. Very well made, and the stories were told by all the people actually involved with the incidents which is so engaging. Though may be frustrating for some, as the clue is in the title – they are unsolved! Erm…we NEED to know what happened? Arrgh!

Things to listen to:

I wanted to mention a podcast I have been really enjoying – You’re Wrong About. This was recommended by the excellent @susiebluesyy and it is one of my new faves! The first episode I listened to was about Courtney Love, and it’s so fascinating to think about how the media really controls how we view certain people, and rumours and speculation can really define their existence in our own minds. I loved it and am listening through the back catalogue, really recommend it!

On my Library app I have been listening to ‘Why I am no Longer Talking to White People about Race’ by Reni Eddo-Lodge which is really a must read/listen. Reni Eddo-Lodge talks about how to see, acknowledge and counter racism, from a UK standpoint. I feel like we often hear the idea that ‘it’s not as bad’ in the UK as opposed to America but she explains how this is far from the truth, and how it is ingrained in our society so deeply. Really fascinating and eye opening.

I hope you are well! Things in the outside world seem to be slowly getting back to normal but I feel very weird about everything and would rather remain in my hermit shell! Hope you are doing good in your situation, whatever that may be. I hope to see you next Saturday at the Etsy Made Local Online

Love

Jess
